September Newsletter: Welcome Back!
Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to a new season at The Moderne Academie! We’re looking forward to a year filled with challenges and rewards. We hope your summer has been full of new experiences and lots of family memories.
This newsletter, which you will receive on email each month, highlight’s important dates, studio information and news about our competition teams and student of the month, class of the month and most improved student of the month. If you do not receive it each month, please let us know…your email must be wrong. Attached to this newsletter is our MAFA calendar. Recital and Rehearsal dates, our vacation dates and costume deposit or balances deadline dates are on the calendar. Please check the dates and put them on your family calendar. We follow the SPF schools calendar…but…we do not take the one-day holidays (Yom Kippur, MLK Day, President’s Day). They are always on a Monday! Please make note of that.
Tuition is due the first lesson of each month. The tuition is the same for 10 months regardless of 3 or 4 classes that month. You can pay by either check, PayPal or cash. There are MAFA envelopes in the lobby next to the brass mailbox and pens if you want to put your check in an envelope before leaving it in the brass mailbox.
You can make-up a class that you were absent from at another time in another class. Ask your teacher which class would be appropriate for you to attend. It does not need to be made up immediately. You can come when you have the extra time.
If we are closed for inclement weather, you should receive an email. It will also be on our website or answering machine at the studio.
We will be trying to include our Dance Exams and Scholarship Exams back into our programs. We will keep you informed about them as the year progresses.
Associated Dance Teachers of N.J. Workshops are included in our calendar. Serious students ages 8 and up are eligible to attend. They will be at Montclair State this year and the fee is $60 for the day. Their 2 scholarship programs are also available to eligible students. The Junior Essay Scholarship and the Francis L. Chalif Senior Scholarship.
Our Competition teams had a very rewarding Nationals. Both teams got Diamond & Platinum awards! The Senior team took 3rd, 5th and 7th All Around in their division. The Junior team took 3rd and 1st All Around in their division. We were very proud of their performances. GREAT JOB!!!
